Cardiology

Cardiac Unit has been established at THQ Hospital by the order of Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar in November 2018. A 5 bedded ward has been made functional in this regards. The Cardiac Unit is dedicated to provide the highest quality, comprehensive cardiac care for all ages. Cardiac diploma holder & trained Medical Practioners and Allied Health Professionals provide a full range of following services to patients. Common conditions that are treated within CCUs including angina, Myocardial infection ,cardiac arrhythmia, cardiac shock etc. Patients may be transferred directly to coronarycare unit from an emergency department or from a ward if they rapidly deteriorate, and immediately require cardiac care treatment. Cardiologists are specialists in diseases of the heart. The biggest area of heart disease treated is coronary artery disease e.g. angina. Also treated are abnormal heart rhythms, heart failure, high blood pressure and some rarer conditions. Cardiologists usually treat heart disease with drugs. We are providing good health facilities to our communities with a competent and qualified staff. ETT machine for Exercise Tolerance Test and Echocardiography facility also available.

Aims and Objectives

  • To provide outdoor and indoor facilities for poor and needy patients free of cost throughout the year
  • Enhance comprehensive Cardiac care delivery programme
  • To serve the community in control of cardiac diseases through preventive, curative and promoting measures by establishing cardiac care services in rural areas
  • To create awareness among the communities by distributing information related to cardiac diseases in local languages
